Postnatal yoga for mother and baby
The postnatal period is a very special time for mothers and babies. It is a joyful, yet tiring time of your life and the yoga will help you to invigorate both the body and the mind.
Following your pregnancy and the stress that your body goes through during birth it’s essential that you rebuild your overall fitness and flexibility. Postnatal exercises will help you to realign the pelvis, strengthens the pelvic floor and speeds up postnatal recovery.
The postnatal yoga classes are designed to support your recovery from the emotional and physical stress of pregnancy and giving birth. The yoga practices strengthen and de-stress muscles, help to ease the stress of sleep deprivation and enables you to refocus body and mind. Special emphasis is given to strengthening the abdominal muscles and the lower back and stabilising the spine.
This programme of classes is specially designed to provide a warmly supportive environment in which to enjoy getting to know your baby, sharing beneficial practices to aid postnatal recovery and learning to relax in each others’ presence over the postnatal year and beyond.
